1. General Questions 

1.1 What is a semi-custom computer?

  • A computer with preselected parts but has options for parts to be swapped out.
  • (Our product offerings fall under this)

1.2 What parts do we use for Semi-Custom PCs?

  • We have full publicly available spec lists for every type of part at this google drive link.

1.3 What is a custom computer?

  • A fully customized computer, with every part selected by the buyer. 
  • (We offer this for an extra fee. If you want this, reach out to us by email.)

1.4 Why should I choose a custom or semi-custom computer over a prebuilt one? 

  • More control over what parts you get and in some cases more transparency over what parts you get.
  • (This is especially important for people with specific needs like coders, artists and video editors)

1.5 How does the custom computer building process work?

  • For Semi-Custom put in the order and we will keep in touch with you via email about when the parts are expected, assembly time & shipping time estimates. 

  • For a full custom add in two steps beforehand, 1 email us to arrange a meeting either through phone or discord and 2 either come with a full ready design on pcpartpicker.com or we will guide you through the design process design on the aforementioned website making sure the computer fits both your needs and budget to the best of our abilities.

2. Customization Options

2.1 What parts can I customize? (e.g., CPU, GPU, RAM, storage)

  • More control over what parts you get and in some cases more transparency over what parts you get.
  • (This is especially important for people with specific needs like coders, artists and video editors)

2.2 Can I select components that are not listed on your website?

  • No. We only allow components not listed for a fully custom, if you would like those services reach out to us at our email neoninfernocomputers@gmail.com.

2.3 Do you offer recommendations based on my needs? (e.g., gaming, video editing, coding)

All of our semi-custom builds are all purpose, balanced machines. However if you have specialized needs here's a quick cheat sheet. 

  • For the best graphics Aim for the highest performing gpu model that fits in your budget.
  • For video editing: Balance between a good gpu but also upgrade to 64 GB of RAM & at least a 2 TB faster SSD.
  • For Digital Art: 64GB of Faster RAM, a Faster SSD & if you have money left over a better CPU. 
  • For 3D Modeling: Balance between GPU and CPU, specifically a Nvidia GPU and an AMD CPU and get a 2 TB SSD at least.
  • For Music: 128 GB Ram and a fast CPU.
  • For Coding & Programming: A fast CPU with as many threads as possible (If you want a Threadripper or Xeon go Custom).

3. Ordering and Payment

3.1 How do I place an order for a custom computer?

  • Email us or contact us through our discord and we’ll walk you through the process.

3.2 What payment methods do you accept?

  • Card as well as any payment method currently shown in checkout. 
  • (For customs we can also accept PayPal)

3.3 Can I change my order after placing it?

  • Sadly no as we put the order in for the parts the day after you place your order.

3.4 Do you offer financing or payment plans?

  • Yes. We do through Shopify’s Shop Pay Installments.
  • Feel free to do so if you qualify.

4. Shipping and Delivery

4.1 How long does it take to build and ship my computer?

  • Roughly 7 to 14 business days.
  • (this can vary heavily if you live far or if a part can only be sourced from foreign suppliers)

4.2 Do you ship internationally?

  • We are currently unable to do business on the international market.

4.3 How is my computer packaged to ensure safe delivery?

  • We double box them, the first using foam wedges designed for the chassis and the second being filled with packing peanuts, internally we use an anti-static bag and anti-static foam to keep the gpu from getting damaged. 
  • (Remove foam and bag before starting.) 

4.4 Can I track my order?

  • Yes, we send you the UPS tracking number upon dropping it off at UPS.

5. Warranty and Support

5.1 What kind of warranty do you offer on your custom-built computers?

  • Just the manufacturer's warranty that comes with the parts.

5.2 Are individual components covered under warranty?

  • Most computer parts come with a manufacturer warranty though the length and coverage depends heavily on the company.

5.3 Do you provide technical support after purchase?

  • In our discord server we’re more than happy to help with any issues that may arise with one of our computers.

5.4 What should I do if my computer arrives damaged or isn’t working?

  • Email us and we will walk you through the steps to make sure it isn’t an easily fixed problem, if it is not we will cover the shipping back and we will find which part is damaged, get a replacement, fix it and send it back.

6. Upgrades and Repairs

6.1 Do you offer upgrade services?

  • No we do not.

6.2 Can I send my computer back for repairs?

  • Email us first, if it is due to our own failing we will fix it, otherwise it is dependent on manufacturer warranty and we will only accept claims from orders sent within the last 2 months.

7. Compatibility and Performance

7.1 How can I be sure the parts I choose for a custom computer are compatible?

  • We will walk you through the process.

7.2 Will my computer run the software or games I need?

  • It is highly dependent on what you get, with a custom build we will help you to find parts that fit your needs, for semi-custom refer to the cheat sheet above in customization as well as the spec requirements on any given software and compare to our publicly available specs.

7.3 Do you test the computers before shipping them?

  • Yes, we run a multi core cpu test and a gpu test through cinebench to ensure there are no overheating issues as well as the output matches the specs.

8. Operating System and Software

8.1 Do you install the operating system?

  • Yes. We install Windows 11 to every computer & will install a different one for customs if requested.

8.2 Can I choose what software comes pre-installed?

  • No. The computer is sent with a couple of testing softwares as well as softwares for driver updates.

8.3 Can I request a computer without an operating system?

  • Only if you are ordering a fully custom computer.

9. Pricing and Discounts

9.1 How are the prices of custom computers determined?

  • Based on parts, labor, and a flat $100 dollar charge for consultation to discuss parts.

9.2 Do you offer discounts on bulk orders?

  • No, that is not something we currently offer.

9.3 Are there any hidden fees in the pricing?

  • Besides U.S taxes and shipping, no.

10. Return and Refund Policy

10.1 What is your return policy?

  • No returns or refunds. 
  • (However we will refund an order if we cancel it on our end)

10.2 Can I return the computer if it doesn’t meet my expectations?

  • No, all specs are public and as a small startup we lack the finances to deal with returns.
